Hello Math Kangaroo Managers,

Happy February!

This month, registration for in-person and online centers has closed, but students may still register for remote and virtual centers throughout February.

Please read about teachers’ seminar, a State Directors meeting, and the delivery of Math Kangaroo materials.

We hope you are getting excited as Kangaroo Day in March is approaching quickly.

Please take a moment to carefully review the full update below, as it contains important information for center managers.

Math Kangaroo 2026 Spring Seminar for Teachers

This lecture will be led by Prof. Michael Lambrou, representing Math Kangaroo Greece. He is the author of hundreds of Math Kangaroo questions that our students enjoy each year. He submitted over 800 original problem proposals, 240 of which were selected for official Kangaroo competitions, with an additional 100 chosen as alternate problems. Professor Lambrou is a respected scholar and engaging speaker. It is a must-watch seminar!

Mock Test for Online Centers

Online center managers can request to set up a mock test by emailingβ€―magda@mathkangaroo.org.

Important Notes:

  • The mock test is grouped by grade pairs (Grades 1–2, 3–4, 5–6, etc.), whereas the official competition is by individual grade.

  • The test includes 10 questions and takes about 15–20 minutes.

  • Students log in using their parents’ credentials. For the official competition, separate student (pseudo) credentials will be provided.

  • The mock test does not need to be proctored on a specific date or time.

  • It is designed as a flexible, low-pressure practice opportunity to help students become familiar with the exam format and online platform. It may be completed at any time that works best for your center or students.

Preparing for the Future: Math Kangaroo x Turing

Math has always been the language of logic, but today, it is also the language of Artificial Intelligence. To help our students stay ahead of the curve, Math Kangaroo is thrilled to partner with Turing to bring Kangaroo students new AI-powered resources that go beyond the textbook. More details in the next email in March.
